Assistant Research Professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics
Alokananda Ghosh, MD, PhD joined the Biostatistics Center in July 2019. She completed her PhD in Biostatistics and Data Science in May 2019 at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and previously obtained her MD from Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Ghosh is currently a co-investigator and statistician on GRADE (Glycemia Reduction Approaches in Diabetes: A Comparative Effectiveness Study). She gives quarterly medical seminars to the Biostatistics Center geared towards providing clinically focused didactics on disease processes, their underlying pathophysiology and relevant anatomical structures. In addition to her statistician and co-investigator roles, Dr. Ghosh is a licensed physician with a background in internal medicine, and she maintains best practices and up to date evidence based medicine via annual Continuing Medical Education (CME). She is particularly interested in clinical applications of biostatistics and data science and their contributions to evidence based medicine, including large multi-center clinical trials and other longitudinal studies.
