Elizabeth Thom
Research Professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics
Dr. Elizabeth Thom, Ph.D., former Center Director (2012-2018), joined the Biostatistics Center in 1986. She has over 30 years of experience as a biostatistician in the United States, Canada, and England, with 18 years directly related to the conduct of multi-center clinical trials. She has co-authored numerous articles presenting results of clinical studies, which have been published in the New England Journal of Medicine and JAMA, among other journals. Dr. Thom provides biostatistical expertise and support in the design, execution, data processing and analysis of multi-center clinical trials and epidemiological studies. She serves as a member of the Data and Safety Monitoring Committees for several National Institutes of Health (NIH) and World Health Organization (WHO) sponsored projects. Dr. Thom is a Fellow of the Society for Clinical Trials.
