Ella Temprosa, Ph.D., joined The Biostatistics Center in May 1994. She is the Principal Investigator of the Biomarkers for Outcomes in the Diabetes Prevention Program, a substudy of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) sponsored Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) to evaluate the role of novel biomarkers in the development of diabetes and its complications from 2008-2013. As of May 2013, she is the Principal Investigator of the Coordinating Center for the Diabetes Prevention Program Outcomes Study. She has been involved with other NIDDK sponsored studies Medical Therapy of Prostatic Symptoms (MTOPS) as well as the National Institute of Child Health and Development (NICHD) sponsored studies conducted through the NICHD Neonatal Intensive Care Units Network (NICU): Generic Database; Randomized Clinical Trial of Dexamethasone Therapy in Very Low Birth Weight Infants at Risk for Chronic Lung Disease, Randomized Trial of Minimal Ventilator Support and Early Corticosteroid Therapy to Increase Survival Without Chronic Lung Disease in Extremely Low Birth Weight Infants (SAVE), Effects of Maternal Lifestyles on Infant Outcomes (EMLI). Her interests include data analysis, statistical graphics, visualization missing data as well as application of new technologies for more efficient management of clinical trials.
