Publication Description
The potential degenerative effects on the human retina of long-term exposure to light can be studied by epidemiological methods. Two approaches are (1) the case-control study, in which the cases are known to have a particular retinal abnormality: and (2) the study of two population groups which are believed to have had differing exposures to light. Macular degeneration is used as an example in describing the methods of study.
