A Statistician's Apology

Publication Description
Statistics is viewed as an activity using a variety of formulations to give incomplete, but revealing, descriptions of phenomena too complex to be completely modeled. Examples are given to stress the depth and variety of such activities and the intellectual satisfactions to be derived from them.
