Exercise And Nutrition Interventions To Improve Cancer Treatment-Related Outcomes (ENICTO)

The research objectives of the ENICTO Consortium are to support the development and testing of exercise and/or medical nutrition interventions designed to improve cancer treatment-related outcomes for therapies delivered with curative or life-extending intent to cancer survivors, defined as individuals from the day of diagnosis until the end of life. The ENICTO Consortium is comprised of four randomized clinical trials with common research goals.
1)    Dose-response of aerobic training during total neo- adjuvant therapy for locally advanced rectal cancer (TNT) (Sloan-Kettering/NYC).
2)    Trial of exercise and lifestyle (TEAL) in women with ovarian cancer (Yale/New Haven, U Miami)
3)    Aerobic exercise during chemotherapy in colon cancer (Pennington/Baton Rouge, Dana Farber/Boston, Kaiser/Oakland)
4)    Tele-health resistance exercise intervention to preserve dose intensity and vitality in elder breast cancer patients (THRIVE-65) (Penn State/Hershey, Dana Farber/Boston, Case Western/Cleveland)
